Muslim Presence in Ţahţā: Ţahţā, a city in the Sohag Governorate of Egypt, has a long-standing Muslim community that forms an integral part of its social fabric. The city's history reflects the broader Islamic heritage of Upper Egypt, where Islam has been practiced for centuries. The community is deeply rooted in local traditions and daily life, with Islamic values shaping the rhythm of the city.

Local Mosques and Community Life: The Muslim community in Ţahţā is served by numerous mosques and prayer places, both within the city and in surrounding areas. Notable among these is Shaikh Isa Mosque, located in Deir Al Ganadlah, El Ghanayem, about 27.6 km away. This mosque is a key landmark for worshippers in the region. Other prayer places are found in nearby towns such as El Badari, Abu Tig, and Tima, reflecting the widespread presence of Islamic worship spaces. These mosques provide essential services for daily prayers, Friday sermons, and community gatherings, supporting the spiritual needs of residents and visitors alike.

Prayer Time Orientation: For Muslims in Ţahţā, the five daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—structure the day. Prayer times vary throughout the year due to changes in sunrise and sunset, influenced by the city's latitude and the Earth's axial tilt. The city is in the Africa/Cairo timezone, and prayer times are calculated using standard methods. The Qibla direction, essential for prayer orientation, is determined from Ţahţā's coordinates. The distance to Mecca is a significant factor for the local community, connecting them to the holiest site in Islam. Understanding these variations helps residents and travelers plan their daily worship accurately.
