Muslim Presence in Damascus: Damascus, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, has been home to a Muslim community for centuries. The city's rich Islamic heritage is reflected in its historic mosques and the daily rhythm of prayer that shapes life here. Muslims in Damascus observe the five daily prayers as an integral part of their faith and culture.

Notable among them is the Shaikh Mohiddin Mosque, located in the heart of Damascus, serving as a central place of worship. Other significant mosques include the Hanabila Mosque, Al-Majid Mosque, Mazi Mosque in Al Midan, and Al Mezzeh Grand Mosque on Al Walid Ibn Abd El Malek street. The historic Masjid Umawi (Umayyad Mosque) and the Minaret of Isa ibn Maryam are also prominent landmarks. Prayer Times Orientation: Prayer times in Damascus vary throughout the year due to changes in sunrise and sunset, influenced by the city's latitude and the seasons. The daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—follow the sun's position. Damascus operates on Asia/Damascus timezone. The Qibla direction for prayer is oriented towards Mecca, and the distance to the Kaaba is a key consideration for Muslims. The calculation method used for prayer times is based on standard conventions, providing reliable timings for the community.
