Muslim Presence in Tacna Tacna, a city in southern Peru near the Chilean border, is home to a small but established Muslim community. While historical records are limited, the presence of a dedicated mosque indicates a long-term settlement of Muslims in the region, contributing to the city's cultural diversity.

Community and Prayer Places The Muslim community in Tacna is centered around the Bab-ul-Islam Mosque, located at Ejercito 1607. This mosque serves as a focal point for daily prayers and community gatherings, providing a space for worship and connection for residents and visitors alike.

Prayer Time Orientation Muslims in Tacna observe the five daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—following the rhythm of the sun. Prayer times vary throughout the year due to the city's latitude and seasonal changes in sunrise and sunset. The city operates on America/Lima time, and the Qibla direction is determined from Tacna's coordinates, with the distance to Mecca being a significant factor in orientation.
