The city's Islamic heritage is deeply woven into its social fabric, with mosques and prayer spaces integrated into neighborhoods across the metropolitan area. This presence reflects centuries of Islamic influence in the region, shaping daily life and cultural practices.

Community Implantation The Muslim community in Dakar is served by numerous prayer places, including the prominent Bargnie inter mosque, located about 20 km from the city center. Other mapped mosques such as Mosquée de Thiokho and Mosquée de Sébikotane indicate a widespread network of worship spaces. In the Bargny Gouddau area, several mosques like Grande Mosquée de Bargny Gouddau and Mosquée Madinatoul Mounawara provide local prayer facilities. These sites, spread across Dakar and nearby communes like Sebikotane, demonstrate the community's established presence.

Prayer-Time Orientation Muslims in Dakar observe the five daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—according to the city's timezone (Africa/Dakar). Prayer times vary throughout the year due to seasonal changes in sunrise and sunset, influenced by Dakar's latitude. The Qibla direction and distance to Mecca are key for orientation. The calculation method used ensures accurate timings for each prayer, helping residents and visitors maintain their daily worship rhythm.
