Mosques • Yokohama

Yokohama, Japan's second-largest city, offers a modest but expanding network of prayer spaces for Muslims. Within a 50 km radius, there are over 20 listed mosques and prayer rooms, reflecting the presence of a diverse Muslim community. The most prominent local mosque is the Yokohama Grand Masjid, located in the Tsuzuki Ward at 1 Chome-31-13 Hayabuchi, about 13 km from central Yokohama. This mosque serves as a key religious center for residents in the northern part of the city.

Beyond Yokohama's borders, many prayer places are concentrated in Tokyo's wards and surrounding prefectures. In the Tokyo area, notable mosques include Tokyo Camii & Diyanet Turkish Culture Center in Shibuya, As-Salaam Masjid in Taito, Masjid Indonesia Tokyo in Meguro, and Asakusa Mosque. These are spread across districts such as Shibuya, Taito, Meguro, Toshima, Chiyoda, Ota, Katsushika, Shinjuku, Edogawa, and Chuo. Additionally, prayer rooms like Musollah Prayer Noa Dogenzaka and Prayer Room Shibuya PARCO 5F West provide convenient options for worshippers in commercial hubs.

In Kanagawa Prefecture, besides Yokohama, the Ebina Masjid in Ebina city offers another option. Further afield, mosques in Chiba (Chiba Islamic Cultural Center, Hira Mosque Gyotoku) and Saitama (Baitul Aman Masjid Complex) extend the network. This distribution shows that while Yokohama itself has limited dedicated mosques, the surrounding metropolitan area provides numerous alternatives for daily prayers, Jumu'ah, and community gatherings. The listings are based on available mapped records, and users are encouraged to verify details directly.

Check the address and distance of each mosque before visiting. Many are in Tokyo wards, so plan travel accordingly. Contact details may be available online; verify prayer times and Jumu'ah schedules directly with the mosque. Some prayer rooms are in commercial buildings, so confirm access hours.
