Description
Ferhadija Mosque, also known as Ferhadija džamija, is one of the most iconic Ottoman-era mosques in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Constructed in 1561–1562 under the patronage of Ferhad-beg Vuković-Desisalić, it features a single dome, a slender minaret, and a beautiful interior adorned with floral motifs and calligraphy. The mosque is located on Ferhadija Street, a pedestrian zone in the city center, and is surrounded by shops and cafes. Despite suffering damage during the Bosnian War, it has been fully restored and remains an active place of worship and a popular tourist attraction.
