Muslim Presence in Rasht: Rasht, the capital of Gilan Province, has a long-established Muslim community that forms the majority of its population. The city's Islamic heritage is reflected in its numerous mosques and prayer spaces, which serve as centers for worship and community life. Over the centuries, Rasht has been a hub for Islamic scholarship and culture in northern Iran, with a tradition of religious observance that continues to this day.

Community Implantation: The Muslim community in Rasht is well-served by a network of mosques and prayer places throughout the city and its surroundings. Notable among these is the Hajj Samad Khan Mosque, located in the heart of Rasht, which stands as a prominent place of worship for local residents. Other mapped prayer places include the Mosque of Bibi Hurieh in nearby Bandar Anzali, as well as several mosques in areas such as Sangachin, Ziabar, and Aminabad. This widespread presence of prayer facilities reflects the deep-rooted Islamic character of the region.

Prayer-Time Orientation: Muslims in Rasht observe the five daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—according to the local timezone, Asia/Tehran. Prayer times vary throughout the year due to changes in sunrise and sunset, influenced by Rasht's latitude and the seasons. The calculation method used for determining prayer times is based on standard Islamic jurisprudence. When praying, worshippers face the Qibla direction, which is oriented towards Mecca. The distance from Rasht to Mecca is approximately 2,000 kilometers, a reminder of the spiritual connection that unites the global Muslim community.
