Muslim Presence in Kofu: Kofu, the capital of Yamanashi Prefecture, is home to a small but established Muslim community. While historical records of early Muslim settlement are limited, the presence of prayer facilities in and around the city indicates a growing community that has taken root over recent decades. Muslims in Kofu include both local residents and international workers, students, and travelers, contributing to the city's diverse cultural fabric.

Community and Prayer Places: The Muslim community in Kofu is served by several prayer spaces in the broader Yamanashi area. Notable among them is Fujikawaguchiko Masjid (富士河口湖マスジド), located about 25 km away in Fujikawaguchiko, which serves as a central mosque for the region. Additional prayer rooms are available in Fujikawaguchiko and Minami-Alps, providing convenient options for worshippers. These facilities reflect the community's implantation across the prefecture, with mapped locations in areas such as Funatsu and Saiko in Fujikawaguchiko, as well as Yagoshima in Minami-Alps.

Prayer Time Orientation: Muslims in Kofu observe the five daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—according to the city's timezone, Asia/Tokyo. Prayer times vary throughout the year due to changes in sunrise and sunset, influenced by Kofu's latitude and seasonal shifts. The calculation method used ensures accurate timings for the local community. When praying, worshippers face the Qibla direction, which points toward Mecca, located thousands of kilometers away. Understanding these variations helps residents and visitors plan their daily worship routines effectively.
