Muslim Presence in Jeongeup: Jeongeup, a city in North Jeolla Province, South Korea, has a small but established Muslim community. While the city itself does not have a long documented Islamic history, the presence of Muslims in the region has grown over the years, primarily through students, workers, and families from various countries. The community is part of the broader Islamic presence in the Jeonbuk State area, with prayer facilities and mosques serving the faithful in nearby cities.

Community Implantation and Prayer Places: The Muslim community in Jeongeup is supported by a network of mosques and prayer rooms in the surrounding region. Notable among these is the Abu Bakr Al-Seddiq Masjid in Jeonju, approximately 35 km away, which serves as a central place of worship for the area. Other prayer places include Masjid Amar Bin Yaser in Iksan, Jeonju Masjid, and Gimje Mosque, as well as several facilities in Gwangju and Gunsan. These locations, spread across Jeonbuk State and nearby provinces, provide accessible options for Muslims living in or visiting Jeongeup.

Prayer Time Orientation: Prayer times in Jeongeup follow the daily rhythm of Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha, which vary throughout the year due to the city's latitude and seasonal changes in sunrise and sunset. The city operates on Asia/Seoul timezone, and prayer calculations are based on a standard method suitable for the region. Muslims in Jeongeup face the Qibla direction towards Mecca, which is located thousands of kilometers to the southwest. Understanding these variations helps residents and travelers plan their daily prayers accordingly.
