Muslim Presence in Hiratsuka: Hiratsuka, a coastal city in Kanagawa Prefecture, is home to a growing Muslim community. While the city itself has a modest Muslim population, its proximity to Tokyo and Yokohama has fostered a network of prayer spaces and cultural centers. The community is diverse, including both long-term residents and international workers, contributing to a quiet but steady Islamic presence in the region.

Community Implantation and Prayer Places: The local Muslim community is served by several mapped prayer places, with Khadijah Masjid in the Tamura district of Hiratsuka being a notable listed mosque. Other nearby facilities include Tokai Masjid in Hadano, Ebina Masjid, and Quba Cultural Center in Ebina, as well as larger institutions like Yokohama Grand Masjid and Tokyo Camii & Diyanet Turkish Culture Center in Shibuya. These prayer spaces, spread across Hiratsuka and neighboring cities, provide accessible locations for daily prayers and community gatherings.

Prayer-Time Orientation: Muslims in Hiratsuka observe the five daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—according to the local timezone (Asia/Tokyo). Prayer times vary throughout the year due to seasonal changes in sunrise and sunset, influenced by the city's latitude. The Qibla direction is oriented towards Mecca, and the distance to Mecca is approximately 9,500 km. The calculation method used ensures accurate timings for the community's daily worship rhythm.
