Muslim Presence in Havana Havana, the capital of Cuba, is home to a small but established Muslim community. While the history of Islam in the city is not extensively documented, the presence of prayer places and a mosque indicates a long-term settlement of Muslims, likely including both local converts and expatriates. The community has grown organically, with families and individuals maintaining their faith in a predominantly non-Muslim society.

Community Implantation and Mosques The Muslim community in Havana is centered around several prayer places, with Mosque Abdallah being a notable listed mosque. Located at Edificio CUPET, 154 Oficios, in the historic center of Havana, it serves as a central point for congregational prayers. Other mapped prayer places include Tariqa Sufiyya Cuba and Havana Merkez Cami, both in the same area, indicating a concentration of Islamic activity in the Old Havana district. Additional prayer spaces are found in the outskirts, such as Mezquita and Obito in San Antonio de los Baños, showing a wider implantation across the province.

Prayer-Time Orientation Muslims in Havana follow the five daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—timed according to the sun's position. The city's timezone is America/Havana, and prayer times vary throughout the year due to seasonal changes in sunrise and sunset. The Qibla direction and distance to Mecca are key for orientation during prayer. The calculation method used ensures accurate timings for the local latitude, helping residents and visitors maintain their daily worship rhythm.
