While the city itself does not have a long recorded Islamic history, the presence of Muslims in the broader Seoul Capital Area has grown steadily over recent decades, driven by international students, workers, and families. Hanam benefits from its proximity to Seoul and other urban centers, where Islamic institutions and prayer spaces have developed to serve the community.
