Mosques • Gyeongju

Gyeongju, a historic city in Gyeongsangbuk-do, offers a modest but growing network of prayer spaces for Muslims. The most centrally located is Masjid Gyeongju, situated just 0.5 km from the city center in Seongdong-dong, providing a convenient option for residents and visitors. Additionally, a prayer room at 신경주역 (Sin Gyeongju Station) in Geoncheon-eup, about 8.2 km away, serves travelers and those near the KTX station. These listed facilities form the core of Islamic worship within the city limits.

Beyond central Gyeongju, prayer places are established in several outlying districts. In Angang-eup, about 16.5 km north, MASJID AL-JAWAHIR 안강 Lt.2 is located on Yangwol-ri. To the east, BAITUL NUR MOSQUE in Oedong-eup (17.7 km) offers another option. These locations indicate a spread of Islamic centers across Gyeongju's broader administrative area, serving communities in different eup (township) regions. The listed addresses show that mosques are present in both urban and rural settings within the city's jurisdiction.

For those willing to travel slightly farther, numerous mosques are available in neighboring cities such as Ulsan (e.g., Ulsan Islamic Center, Masjid Baburrahmah Ulsan), Gyeongsan (e.g., GYEONGSAN ISLAMIC CENTER, MASJID FAIZAN-E-MADINA JILLYANG), and Yangsan (e.g., FAIZAN-E-MADINA SEOCHANG MASJID). These are within 30–50 km of Gyeongju, making them accessible for day trips or regular commutes. The mapped records show that while Gyeongju itself has a handful of prayer places, the wider region offers a more extensive network for Muslims living in or visiting the area.

Always verify mosque addresses, opening hours, and prayer times before visiting, as details may change. Contact information is not provided in the listings; check local sources or community boards. Some mosques may be located on upper floors (e.g., 2F, 3F, 4F) – look for building signage. Distances are approximate; use GPS for accurate navigation.
