Muslim Presence in Fukushima: Fukushima, a city in Japan's Tohoku region, is home to a small but established Muslim community. While the history of Islam in the area is relatively recent, the presence of mosques and prayer spaces reflects a growing diversity. The community includes both local Japanese converts and expatriates from various countries, contributing to a quiet but steady Islamic presence in the city.

Community Implantation: The Muslim community in Fukushima is centered around a few key prayer places. Masjid Nimrah, located in the Shimoiizaka area about 7 km from the city center, serves as a central gathering point for prayers and community activities. Additionally, Koriyama Masjid in nearby Koriyama and Shiroishi Mosque in Zaō provide further coverage for Muslims in the broader Fukushima region. These mosques are situated in residential and suburban areas, indicating a dispersed but connected community.

Prayer-Time Orientation: Muslims in Fukushima follow the daily rhythm of five prayers: Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. Prayer times vary throughout the year due to Fukushima's latitude (37.75°N) and the changing seasons, with longer days in summer and shorter in winter. The city operates on Asia/Tokyo timezone. The Qibla direction and distance to Mecca are key for orientation during prayer. The calculation method used ensures accurate timings aligned with Islamic jurisprudence.
