Muslim Presence in Dubai Dubai, a global city in the United Arab Emirates, has a long-standing Muslim community that has grown alongside its rapid urban development. Islam is the official religion, and the city's skyline is dotted with minarets and domes reflecting the faith's deep roots. The Muslim population, both local Emiratis and expatriates from diverse backgrounds, contributes to the city's vibrant cultural fabric. Mosques and prayer spaces are integral to daily life, serving as centers for worship, community gathering, and spiritual guidance.

Community Implantation through Mosques The Muslim community in Dubai is well-served by numerous mosques and prayer places across the city and its neighboring emirates. Notable among them is Al Noor Mosque, located on Corniche Street in Al Majaz, Sharjah, about 30 km from central Dubai. This mosque is a prominent landmark for worshippers in the area. Other significant mosques include Sharjah Mosque, King Faisal Mosque, and Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Ajman. Within Dubai itself, Masjid Musabah Bin Rashid Al Fattan Mosque in Al Manara provides a local prayer space. The presence of these mapped prayer places across districts like Al Majaz, Al Soor, and Al Manara illustrates the widespread implantation of the Muslim community, making it easy for residents and visitors to find a place for prayer.

Prayer-Time Orientation Muslims in Dubai observe the five daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—following the rhythm of the sun. Prayer times vary throughout the year due to Dubai's latitude and seasonal changes in sunrise and sunset. The city operates on Asia/Dubai timezone. The Qibla direction for prayer is oriented towards Mecca, and the distance to Mecca from Dubai is approximately 1,800 km. The calculation method used for prayer times is typically the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi or similar standard. Understanding these variations helps worshippers plan their daily routines around the prayer schedule without relying on fixed clock times.
