Muslim Presence in Bruges: Bruges, a historic city in Belgium, is home to a diverse population including a Muslim community that has settled here over decades. While the exact origins of the community are not documented in detail, the presence of several mosques and prayer spaces reflects a long-standing and growing Muslim presence. The city's central location in West Flanders has made it a hub for Muslims from various backgrounds, contributing to the cultural and religious fabric of Bruges.

Local Mosques and Prayer Places: The Muslim community in Bruges is served by several prayer places, both within the city and in nearby areas. Notable among them is Mosque Aisha in Oostende, approximately 22 km away, which serves as a central place of worship for many. Within Bruges itself, Mosquée Bruges Belgique is located in the city center, and Mosque Mariastraat is situated on Mariastraat. Other prayer places are found in districts such as Sint-Andries and Sint-Kruis, as well as in neighboring cities like Oostende, Roeselare, and Kortrijk, indicating a widespread network of Islamic worship spaces across the region.

Prayer Times Orientation: For Muslims in Bruges, the five daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—follow the sun's position and vary throughout the year due to Bruges' latitude and seasonal changes. The city operates on Central European Time (CET/CEST), and prayer times are calculated using a standard method. The Qibla direction, which Muslims face during prayer, is oriented towards Mecca, located thousands of kilometers southeast. Understanding these variations helps residents and visitors plan their daily worship accurately.
