Muslim Presence in Baruta Baruta, a city in the Miranda state of Venezuela, is home to a small but established Muslim community. Muslims have been part of the city's social fabric for decades, contributing to its multicultural character. The community is served by several prayer places in the greater Caracas area, reflecting the long-term settlement of Muslims in the region.

Local Prayer Places The Muslim community in Baruta is connected to a network of mosques and prayer spaces in nearby Caracas and beyond. Notable among them is the Mosque of Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Ibrahim, located about 7.8 km away in Caracas. This mosque serves as a central point for worship and community gatherings. Other prayer places include the Centro Islámico Venezolano Imam Al-Hadi and the Musala del centro, both in Caracas, as well as the Mezquita de Maiquetía in La Guaira. These facilities provide accessible options for Muslims in Baruta and surrounding areas.

Prayer Time Orientation Prayer times in Baruta follow the daily rhythm of Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha, which vary throughout the year due to changes in sunrise and sunset. The city operates on the America/Caracas timezone. Muslims orient themselves towards the Qibla direction for prayer, and the distance to Mecca is a meaningful constant. The calculation method used for prayer times ensures accuracy for the local latitude. This seasonal variation means that prayer times shift gradually, requiring residents to check updated schedules regularly.
