While the city's Islamic history dates back to Al-Andalus, the modern Muslim presence is shaped by more recent arrivals, particularly from North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Today, Muslims form a vibrant part of Almería's multicultural fabric, contributing to the city's social and economic life.
