Muslim Presence in Al Hudaydah Al Hudaydah, a major port city on Yemen's Red Sea coast, has long been home to a significant Muslim community. The city's history as a trading hub has fostered a diverse population, and Islam has been the predominant faith for centuries. The daily rhythm of life in Al Hudaydah is deeply intertwined with the five daily prayers, which structure the day for residents and visitors alike.

Community and Mosques The Muslim community in Al Hudaydah is well-served by numerous mosques and prayer places throughout the city. Among the most prominent is Abbas Mosque, located in the city center, which serves as a central place of worship. Other notable mosques include Adnan Mosque on شارع الحكيمي, Al-Ansar Mosque, and Al-Nasiha Mosque, all within walking distance of the city center. The presence of over twenty mapped prayer places, including Al Sunnah Mosque on Zaied St and Al-Saeed Mosque in الحوك السفلى, reflects the deep implantation of the Muslim community across Al Hudaydah's neighborhoods.

Prayer Times Orientation Prayer times in Al Hudaydah are determined by the sun's position and vary throughout the year due to the city's latitude (14.8°N) and longitude (42.95°E). The five daily prayers—Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha—follow the natural cycle of daylight. Al Hudaydah is in the Asia/Aden time zone, and the Qibla direction is towards Mecca, which is approximately 1,200 km to the northwest. The calculation method used ensures that prayer times are accurate for the city's location, allowing Muslims to observe their prayers at the correct moments each day.
