Muslim Presence in Ad-Damazin: Ad-Damazin, the capital of the Blue Nile State in southeastern Sudan, has a long-established Muslim community. The city's location along the Blue Nile has historically made it a center for trade and settlement, with Islam deeply rooted in the region for centuries. Today, Muslims form the majority of the population, and the rhythm of daily life is closely tied to the five daily prayers.

Community Implantation through Mosques: The Muslim community in Ad-Damazin is well-served by numerous mosques and prayer places spread across the city and its surroundings. Notable among them is the Ad-Damazin ancient mosque, a historic landmark located about 1.5 km from the city center. Other key mosques include Abu Bakr Assedeeq Mosque, Riyadh mosque, Quba Mosque, and Elmazad Mosque, all within the city. The presence of prayer places extends to nearby areas such as Er Roseires, Abu Ramad, and Ash Shallal, reflecting the widespread practice of Islam in the region.

Prayer-Time Orientation: For Muslims in Ad-Damazin, the daily prayers follow the natural cycle of the sun. Fajr begins at dawn, Dhuhr when the sun passes its zenith, Asr in the late afternoon, Maghrib at sunset, and Isha after twilight. These times vary throughout the year due to the city's latitude and the changing seasons. Ad-Damazin operates on Africa/Khartoum time (UTC+2). The Qibla direction is towards Mecca, with a bearing of approximately 23° north of east, and the distance to Mecca is about 1,200 km. Prayer times are calculated using standard methods suitable for the region.
