Al Nejashi Mosque, also known as the Negash Mosque, is a historic mosque located in Kibet Town, Ethiopia. It is one of the oldest mosques in Africa, with origins dating back to the 7th century. The mosque is named after the Negus (King) of Aksum who granted asylum to the first Muslim refugees fleeing persecution in Mecca. The site includes the mosque and the tombs of several of these early Muslims. It remains an important pilgrimage site for Ethiopian Muslims.
